Refugee Ministry
St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and Irvington Presbyterian Church created a joint ministry to care for refugee families arriving in Westchester in October 2021. Since then, we have welcomed and resettled two families from Afghanistan.
Through the generosity of the churches and the community, the refugee ministry has cared for famliies through the furnishing of apartments; providing funds for food and transportation to appointments; and suppored the unique needs of each family.
CROP Hunger Walk
For over 25 years, Irvington Presbyterian has hosted the CROP Hunger Walk in the Rivertowns. The origins of the CROP Hunger Walk goes back 55 years and is undergirded by a simple belief: no one in this world should be hungry. Fund raised through the hunger walk support Feeding Westchester and the global reach of Church World Service.
